West Kootenay EcoSociety is proud to offer three distinct opportunities for local craftspeople, farmers, and entrepreneurs:
Cottonwood Community Market runs every Saturday from May 19* to the end of October (a total of 24 market days). Farm products, crafts, services, and more are welcome. We have 9 log stalls, 17 covered table spaces, room for 18 10×10 canopies, and 5 pull-in truck spaces.
Nelson Downtown Local Market runs every Wednesday from June 13* to the end of September on the 400 block of Baker Street for a total of 16 market days. We have 46 10′x10′ vendor spaces available.
MarketFest takes place on one Friday night each month of the summer on three blocks of downtown Nelson. Market Fest will take place on June 29, July 27, and August 24*. This year, we will have a food court on Kootenay Street and accommodate 100 vendors.

Vendors will be selected by our committee according to seniority, product quality, and contribution to local self-reliance. See the application for more details. Please be advised that we will be requesting digital photos of your goods for sale as well as your display. We want to see your creativity at work! Not only in your products, but in how you present them to the public. Click here for some ideas on how to improve your market stall and your likelihood of selection.
Vendor Fees
Cottonwood Market: Vendor fees will be $21 for a covered table or 10×10 booth, $26 for a log stall, or $11 for a partial stall. The $1 fee increase will be dedicated entirely to promoting the market with advertising, coupon promotions, etc. Season vendors who pay at least 50% in advance will receive a 10% discount. Season vendors who pay entirely in advance receive a 15% discount. Season vendors who pay in advance and sell locally-made or -grown products receive an additional 5% discount. Partial payment discounts are also available for vendors wishing to book partial seasons (e.g starting in July). Tables are provided, and there is a limited number of extra canopies available. Please bring your own chair so that your customers can sit on our chairs.
Downtown Market: Vendor fees will be $25 per day for a 10×10 spot. Season vendors who pay in advance will save 20%. Please be aware that 80% of your items must be locally made or grown in order to qualify for this market. “Locally” means within 100 miles of Nelson, though consideration will be given to farm products from the Okanagan, Peace, and Columbia Valley. Please bring your own table, canopy, and chairs.
Market Fest: Vendor fees will be $35 per market. Returning vendors may pre-register by paying in full by May 1. After May 1, festival spots will be offered on a first come, first served basis. Registration is not complete until the spot is paid for. There will be no refunds for cancellations less than one week in advance of the market date. There will be no new registrations less than one week before the market.
